Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation, distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy operations within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and fellow team members. This opportunity is a travel position in northern Arizona. The position offers a competitive hourly pay rate, provides weekly travel reimbursement and furnished housing.

Shifts: Vary, 4, 10 hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
Medication Preparation & Distribution
- Accurately perform calculations related to medication preparation, compounding, and order processing.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with applicable regulatory and professional standards.
- Assist with the preparation of specialty medications, including injectable therapies, antibiotics, and nutrition solutions, following appropriate training and competency validation.
- Support medication distribution processes, including unit-dose packaging, automated dispensing systems, and inventory replenishment.
- Deliver medications and supplies to designated care areas and process returned medications appropriately.
- Assist pharmacists with medication order fulfillment, labeling, and operational support activities.
- Repackage and compound medications following established quality and safety guidelines.
Pharmacy Operations
- Respond to incoming calls, messages, and electronic communications in a professional and timely manner.
- Process medication charges, credits, and related documentation accurately.
- Maintain inventory levels through receiving, stocking, and distributing pharmaceutical products and supplies.
- Handle controlled substances in accordance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
- Support onboarding and training efforts for new pharmacy team members.
- Assist with downtime procedures and operational continuity activities when needed.
Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to all applicable pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Maintain current licensure, certification, and required training.
- Participate in quality assurance, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Complete routine equipment, inventory, and operational checks as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medication handling, storage, monitoring, and distribution requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification.
- Previous pharmacy experience in a healthcare, hospital, or clinical setting required.
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication distribution systems, and inventory management.
- Experience with sterile compounding required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
