Description

North Star Health, a North Star FQHC, seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Family Medicine team serving underserved communities. In this full-time role, you will room patients, obtain vitals, document in the EHR, assist with procedures, administer injections, and coordinate patient flow. You’ll collaborate closely with providers and staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive, mission-driven environment focused on access, equity, and community health.
Room patients and obtain vital signs
Document patient information in EHR accurately
Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as directed
Prepare and process lab specimens
Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards
Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and follow-up
Provide patient education and support for chronic conditions
Facilitate referrals and care coordination within the FQHC
Contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered team environment
Vital signs measurement
Electronic health records (EHR) documentation

Specimen collection and processing
Patient triage

Basic life support (BLS)
