Puget Sound Educational Service District (PSESD) seeks a highly engaged, organized, creative problem solver, and service-oriented benefit and leave administrator with strong listening and communication skills. The ideal candidates are energized by providing responsive service while managing competing priorities, meeting timelines, working independently, and working collaboratively with internal and external partners in service of the Agency’s mission.
This position serves as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert providing guidance on sensitive and complex job-protected leaves and reasonable accommodations matters. This involves gaining a thorough understanding of employee needs and effectively applying strong knowledge of HR laws, rules, policies, CBA provisions, processes, and best practices. This role also serves as the lead for the Whole Health Committee and independently manages all aspects of benefits for union and non-union employees including benefit enrollments, qualifying events, open enrollment, benefit records management, benefit billing/reconciliation, and benefits compliance/reporting, etc. This role also manages all aspects of work-related injuries and return-to-work.
As a member of the Human Resources team, you will collaborate with others to provide proactive and responsive services, systems, and practices that support employee wellness, engagement, development, and retention. The benefit and leave administrator uses an adaptive approach to provide operational and functional consultation regarding policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, collective bargaining agreements, leave administration, benefits administration, performance management, and professional development.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or vocational degree with study in job-related areas in Human Resources, Organizational Development, and/or Compensation & Benefit Administration, and related field and recent benefit and leave administration experience. High school diploma/GED and progressively responsible recent benefit and leave administration.
Benefits Administration, Billing, Reconciliation Experience - Professional experience in Leave Administration and Compliance (FMLA, WA PFML, WC, ADA etc.)
- Strategic Management and Business Consultation Experience
- Solid knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient use of Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data collection and analysis
- Professional experience training and/or group facilitation
- Experience administering School Employee Benefits (SEBB) or Public Employee Benefits (PEBB)
- Experience with SharePoint, HRIS, & electronic file management
