Description

Our company is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant or LPN/Surgical Coordinator to join our team! We are a busy private practice with three office locations and six colorectal surgeons looking for a qualified candidate who can efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment while providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical duties (escorting patients to exam room, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, cleaning/turning over exam rooms, etc.)
• Documenting detailed and accurate medical history, medications/allergies, and chief complaint in EMR
• Assist with bedside examinations and procedures (i.e. wound/ostomy care, sigmoidoscopy, thrombectomy, I&D, etc.)
• Schedule all procedures and surgeries for surgeon
• Obtaining insurance authorizations for procedures/surgeries and prescriptions
• Triaging a high volume of patient phone calls
• Explaining prep instructions and providing patient education for procedures/surgeries
• Handling prescription refills
• Coordinating imaging tests and referrals to other specialists
• Notifying patients of lab/pathology results when appropriate
• Clean/sterilize instruments
• May be required to travel between our three office locations

Qualifications:

• Must have experience
• Must have current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or LPN licensure
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of medications, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and insurance authorizations highly preferred
• Must have reliable transportation, be punctual, and have good attendance
• Experience with gGastro/EMR highly preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless approved by medical/religious exemption
