Our company is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant or LPN/Surgical Coordinator to join our team! We are a busy private practice with three office locations and six colorectal surgeons looking for a qualified candidate who can efficiently multi-task in a fast-paced environment while providing quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical duties (escorting patients to exam room, obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, cleaning/turning over exam rooms, etc.)
- Documenting detailed and accurate medical history, medications/allergies, and chief complaint in EMR
- Assist with bedside examinations and procedures (i.e. wound/ostomy care, sigmoidoscopy, thrombectomy, I&D, etc.)
- Schedule all procedures and surgeries for surgeon
- Obtaining insurance authorizations for procedures/surgeries and prescriptions
- Triaging a high volume of patient phone calls
- Explaining prep instructions and providing patient education for procedures/surgeries
- Handling prescription refills
- Coordinating imaging tests and referrals to other specialists
- Notifying patients of lab/pathology results when appropriate
- Clean/sterilize instruments
- May be required to travel between our three office locations
Qualifications:
- Must have experience
- Must have current CMA/CCMA/RMA certification or LPN licensure
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of medications, CPT/ICD-10 codes, and insurance authorizations highly preferred
- Must have reliable transportation, be punctual, and have good attendance
- Experience with gGastro/EMR highly preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless approved by medical/religious exemption
