Job Description

 Patient Care Associates (PCAs) provide personalized in-home support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live a more meaningful, independent, and healthier life. Our clients receive help with personal care and activities of daily living (e.g., feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation). PCAs also provide help with tasks such as preparing meals, doing light housekeeping, and behavior support. PCAs provide transportation to work, community events, doctor’s appointments, and grocery shopping. Work is performed in various settings depending on the needs of the care recipient including, but not limited to their home, place of work, community events, or at other nonresidential facilities.
Job Requirements
-Assist clients with completion of daily tasks, such as housekeeping, dishwashing, personal hygiene, cooking, eating, and dressing and other activities of daily life
-Aide clients with physical demands such as ambulation, getting in and out of bed with or without the use of a lift, using the restroom, and boarding vehicles
-Work with clients on developmental and experiential goals such as skill building, social interactions, community engagements, and recreational activities
-Provide transportation to and attend client engagements
-Provide emotional and psychological support by deploying active listening
