Job Description
We are a private practice family medicine clinic looking to hire a Medical Assistant with at least one year of experience who can perfectly balance administrative work, patient care, and communication requirements. The right candidate will enjoy helping patients and doctors navigate their health insurance policies and will have an interest in providing primary care services. We are looking for someone with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude who can be easily and quickly taught. This position is excellent for someone looking to work with a manageable patient volume.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Check-in patients, verify patient's insurance and confirm benefit eligibility, collect payment due at time of visit.
  • Take vital signs and room patients.
  • Perform health screening of patients.
  • Assist with simple medical tests (e.g. set up EKG machine).
  • Answer phone calls and faxes.
  • Prepare patient charts and labs for physicians at beginning of clinic prior to patient visit and organize charts at end of clinic.
  • Clean patient rooms.
  • Submit prior authorizations.

Schedule:

  • Mon.-Thurs. 9 AM-12 PM

Job Requirements
Requirements:
-At least 1 year prior experience in outpatient clinic (prior work at FM/IM/geriatrics clinic is a plus!)
-Bilingual in English and Mandarin
-Able to use a computer (e.g. able to turn on computer, use the internet to check insurance website, MS office, etc.)
-High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
-Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
-Active BLS
-Authorized to work in the U.S.
-Knowledge of ICD-10 codes, CPT codes
-Knowledge of various health insurances
-Understanding of HIPAA
-Ability to reliably commute or relocate prior to starting work
-Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide proof prior to starting employment.

Preferred:
-Prior experience working with EMR and practice management programs
