Job Description
The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Veterans Services, is seeking a highly-experienced, results-oriented, dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking leader to open and operate the Puller Veterans Care Center in Warrenton (Fauquier County), Virginia,
Opening in Fall 2022, the Puller Veterans Care Center (Puller VCC) is named for Lewis B. “Chesty” Puller, Lewis B. Puller, Jr. and Linda “Toddy” Puller.  The Puller VCC honors their lifetime of service to the Nation and the Commonwealth.
The Puller VCC was built to serve our Veterans.  They served us, now it is our duty to serve them.
The Puller VCC is a state of the art facility that follows the “small house” or “community living center” design:  128 private rooms with private baths, organized into 8 × 16-bed households.  A single-level facility, it features a large PT/OT suite, in-house pharmacy, and fantastic indoor and outdoor programming area.
Puller VCC will feature three levels of care:  long-term skilled nursing, Alzheimer’s/memory care, and short-term rehabilitation.

You and your team will be responsible for the efficient operation of the center including overseeing all patient care.  You will have the freedom to build a great team culture through creating and maintaining a positive work environment which encourages employee satisfaction and retention.  You will also be a member of the Leadership Team for the Department of Veteran Services for the great Commonwealth of Virginia.
You will have the full support of the entire DVS team, including the Administrators of the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke, the Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care in Richmond, and the brand-new Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center in Virginia Beach (the “twin” of Puller VCC).  We are here to help you succeed!
You will also have the full support of the Vint Hill/Warrenton/Fauquier County/NoVa communities.  The opening of the Puller VCC is eagerly anticipated, and there will be no end of support for social and volunteer activities, both at the Puller VCC and in the community.

Job Requirements
A valid unencumbered Virginia Nursing Home Administrator License. Alternatively, a Nursing Home Administrator License from a state with reciprocity, or partial reciprocity and acceptable qualifications, will be accepted, provided that the selected candidate obtains his/her Virginia Nursing Home Administrator License within 60 days of hiring.

Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and other long term care payment providers.

Must successfully pass background checks and drug testing.

Experience managing a Skilled Nursing Facility in Virginia.

Experience with Commonwealth of Virginia operations and licensure regulations.
