About this Career Opportunity
The Medical Assistant will assist clinicians and medical staff to provide thorough, up-to-date care and perform a broad range of clinical administrative duties. When illness is the result of nutrition or lifestyle, addressing these causes is our priority. Essential functions and specific duties include:
- Clinical patient care
- Take patient histories
- Perform procedures and tests including phlebotomy
- Clinical administration
- Document notes in EHR (Athena)
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostics, prescriptions, and procedures
- Maintain equipment and supplies
- Cross-train and assist with front office duties as needed
- Patient education
- Assist with online and in-person nutrition education programs
- Train patients on proper usage of health monitoring devices
- Clinical research
- Assist with research protocols including participant assessments and group education and support classes
This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro’s Red Line).
